Hi my name is Cara Hornung and I own Bickler's Babies Daycare and Preschool. The daycare has been open for 8 years but I have been working with kids for 17 years now. I worked in two daycare centers when I was in high school. After I graduated from High School I moved to Portland, OR to attend Northwest Nannies Institute for 7 months. I graduated from Nanny School in the summer of 2004. I moved back to Billings, MT and nannied for a couple who had two kids for 4 1/2 years until their youngest went to school. I opened my infant only daycare in June of 2008. I met my husband Ross in the summer of 2006 and we married on September 26th 2009! We had a beautiful outdoor wedding! We found out that we were expecting our first son Everett in the winter of 2011 and decided to move to a bigger house! Now that we have a bigger house I decided to start taking older children and start teaching preschool, and I love it! Everett is a very loving and caring boy that loves to play with his "friends" at daycare! Our 2nd son Arie was born April 5th, 2015! Arie is a very out going 1 year old! Loves to play outside and in the water, he is a water baby! Over the years working with children has been really rewarding and I love every minute of it, even the not so good ones! In the end I have learned so much from every child!

My Daycare vs Centers

At my daycare your child gets more one on one care. At centers they don't take the babies outside or swimming. You only deal with me or on occasion my husband Ross or my Aunt Jean at my daycare. Less people going in and out my door means less germs. Quiet environment for small infants. My rates are $2 to $5 lower then most centers. No biting problems. My daycare kids are not all the same age which is great because they learn more from each other. The best thing of all it feels just like home!

Infants

I have taken care of Infants since I was 15 years old.  I have lost count of how many babies I have taken care of. I believe that all babies need to be on a napping and feeding schedule. It makes day to day around here run smoothly. The babies know when they get fed and take a nap, so they don't have to worry about letting me know because they know the routine. I always hold the babies when being bottled fed, I never prop bottles up. I take the babies outside to play and to enjoy the fresh air. I provide baby food. I have a nice separate nap room from the play room where babies can sleep well with out being woken up by other children playing. I also have a separate baby play area for babies that are not mobile yet. You can just call me the baby whisperer!

Bickler's Babies Daycare and Preschool takes ages 0-5 years. The daycare is located in my home. I have all kids on a schedule. The schedule includes play time, preschool, craft time, meal times, nap time and much more. I like to keep the kids very busy during the day with lots of activities. On nice days we go outside and play for an hour or 2. During the winter I will take the older ones outside to play in the snow. During the spring, summer, and fall I will take the kids to the park to play once a week. On hot summer days I will take the kids to the spray park or go swimming in the back yard. My rate is $33 a day for infants (0-17 months old), $30 a day for toddlers (18-23 months old), and 2-5 year olds are $28 a day. You can pay me every two weeks or on the 1st of every month. I'm enrolled in the food program, so I can feed your child well rounded home made meals. State paid children are welcome. My hours are Monday - Friday 6:45am to 5:30pm. My daycare is licensed and insured. Ross, Jean, and I are safe sleep trained, CPR and first aid certified.
